ESTABLISHMENT & ACCOUNT SECTION

Establishment and Accounts Section are the majorsections of the municipality, but it’s not directly dealing with Citizen of Karaikal Municipality. The major roles and functions performed by these Sections are as follows: -

• Creation of various types of new posts (technical & non-technical) & obtained sanction from Govt. of Puducherry.
• Correspondence, records & salary payments of Officers deputed by the Govt. of Puducherry.
• Deals with Employee Promotions, Transfer.
• Proposals under Inheritance & Compassionate ground.
• Officers / Employee Salary, increments and Others Payment (i.e. Bonus, Advance and etc.)
• Labour court & High court matters related to employees.
• Conducting capacity building training for Officers and employee.
• Preparation of yearwise Municipal budget and revised budget.
• Preparation and maintenance of yearwise annual financial statements like ledgers, receipt and payments, trail balance, Balance Sheets etc.
• Maintaining different Bank / Treasury accounts, Government grants received by the municipality, municipal revenues and expenditures related accounts on daily basis.
• Performing day to day payment of bills, taxes and etc.
• Facing financial year wise AG audit.
